Christmas treep

Monday, December 22, 2014

I really really apologize for the title of this post, but somebody (Andrea) thought it was hilarious so, how could I say no? ;)

We left Biarritz on Saturday at 6.30am for a 12 hours drive for Italy! Yaaaay, we're home for Christmas!!!!!
We couldn't wait to be back to our families and friends and celebrate together!! I even had to meet a new baby born in the family!!!!

We're used to the travel, but it always feels like neverending. We left the ocean, crossed the lands of Camargue and Provence, we passed next to Mediterranean sea coastline and at sunset we finally reached the Italian Alps.
We went from 18°C (64°F) of the south of France to 5°C (41°F) of the mountains... brrrrrr

This year everyone is complaining about the lack of snow and that is unluckily true. During our travel we expected to see a lot (or at least some) of white, but instead we met just a few on the top of some mountains. It seems like we won't have a white Christmas, but we are with our families and that's what matter the most. And we have 3 days more to Christmas, so never say never!!! ;)

The landscapes we passed by were stunning, just a few cars on the road and a we've been blessed with such a pleasant sunny day!! So amazing!

Now we're home, tired but smiling and getting our stomachs ready for the upcoming celebrations of the next days.

Holidays have officially started!!!!!

Italian getaway

Monday, September 15, 2014

Sorry it's been a while since the last post. But here's the news: I am in Italy!!!!
Yes, I decided to take a little holiday and come see family and friends for a week. So, my mister and I arrived at my parents' seaside home to spend the weekend before going to our home town.

We had so much fun!!! We left for a daily boat trip and swam around this little island. Jump diving, underwater discoveries, great food and loads of laughs... It really was that perfect summer time geteaway we have been waiting for!
The water was crystal clear and the sun was shining high, the light reflecting our shapes on the surface while we were admiring the underwater world.

Mediterranean sea felt so different from the Atlantic Ocean. Kind and welcoming the first, wild and fierce the second. Both charming in their own way, I have to admit I felt at ease here - I felt at home.

Oh, I was missing Italy so much... And yes, I arrived just three days ago and I feel I already gained a few extra kilos!

Welcome to the Bel Paese! Where everything is loud, bright and tastes amazing!

About Italian surfers

Saturday, January 25, 2014
Now that I am back home - even if just for a short holiday time, I am realizing why I love surfing in Italy.

Ok, I know, we don't have huge swells and waves are rare birds here, but when it comes to surfing Italians are the most enthusiastic people I know.
