Winter Chai Latte recipe

Monday, December 14, 2015

Ok, we have to admit. In the Northern hemisphere winter has come. Which is all good for the whole Christmas atmosphere... A little less for our frozen toes during the latest surf sessions!
Anyways, here in Southern France we've been a little spoiled these recent weeks and the sun shone like it was still mid fall. But this didn't keep us from indulging a little in winter decoration and treats :)

This leads to today's topic, which is a super easy and delicious Chai Latte recipe! It was the first time with Chai Latte for me and I definitely wanted to share my recipe with you :) I've been wanting to try it for a long time and I was totally satisfied by its coziness and delicate spicy aroma. Better sipped around the fireplace after a cold winter surf session...
Ok let's go!

What you need (serve 2 people):
1 tbs of black tea (a regular tea bag is fine too)
2 tbs powdered cinnamon
3 black peppercorns
3 whole cloves
1 and 1/2 cup water
1 cup milk
raw honey
cinnamon sticks for decorating

Mix the spices and the tea in a saucepan with water. Stir over medium heat and bring to a boil.
Turn off the heat and allow everything to steep in the water for 5 minutes.
Drain the spices and pour the infusion into 2 halves-mugs.
Heat the milk in a saucepan over low heat and then fill the mugs.
Pour some raw honey to add some sweetness and decorate with some cinnamon sticks.

Serve very warm and enjoy! You'll be totally sold by the spicy, cozy, wintery aroma.....

I hope that you liked my version of Chai Latte and that this will make you embrace winter cold afternoons with a smile :)
