Something you need to know about sun exposure

The sun is shining, and we can’t wait to spend all day long at the beach. Like everyone, I love to be tanned, and having gold skin all year long makes me feel cheerful and beautiful.

As surfers, most of us are fortunately aware of the damages of sun rays and we try to protect our skin as much as we can… But sometimes this is not enough.

Did you know that sun's UV rays are reflected both by water AND sand? This puts surfers and beach lovers in an even more dangerous zone, as UV levels at the coast are higher. In addition, most sunscreens usually don't last the entire time we spend in or by the water.

Today Surfragette is teaming up with P20 to get more awareness out about the big ugly C and the risks of sun exposure.
P20 is a Danish-heritage sunscreen brand created for active people. In fact, its unique formula is designed to last up to 10 hours, and as it’s "Very water resistant" (the highest classification available), it provides the ultimate coverage in and out of the water!
This allows us to enjoy our time under the sun, while minimizing the time spent applying and re-applying sun protection. But be sure to wait at least 15 minutes to allow a protective film to form on the skin, before going out in the sun or swimming.
Nobody wants to get burn, don't you?

UVA and UVB rays are responsible for the majority of sunburn and premature aging of the skin – aka: a lot of wrinkles.  Furthermore they play a key role in developing skin cancer.

And we don't want all of that, right?

A "photostable" sunscreen uses UV filters that absorb radiation from the sun and is able to withstand the effects of UV exposure better.
We all have different skin types, which means every one of us needs a specific level of sun protection based on several factors, such as skin, hair, and eye color.
That is why P20 offers 15, 20, 30, and 50+ SPF (Sun Protection Factors) levels to suit everybody's needs.

To find the best SPF for you and to get further information about how to be safe under the sun, UV ray exposure risks, and everything you need to know about sun damage, you can visit www.p20.co.uk.

Now you're ready to have fun in the water as long as you want!
Enjoy your sun-protected summer everyone!!
