Sørensen watches + a giveaway!

Omg, when Sørensen contacted me for collaborating together I was beyond excited!!! First of all, I like to partner with new brands because it's so inspiring and motivating and it's just #goodvibes all over. Then, I was so happy to finally find a brand of watches for surfers that wasn't "just for surfers".

Let me explain better. The dawn patrol is amazing this morning, but you have just one short hour before that important business meeting you prepared for the last few weeks. You put on your water resistant rubber watch and go for a quick sesh. You get a shower, wear your smart office suit and then head to work. With your rubber watch still on!!!

Now you get it.

Sørensen developed a surf watch with a smart casual style, so you can wear it and just forget about it, whatever the situation. You would think it is such a simple idea, but no one ever thought about it before! And that's why I found it awesome!

Rasmus, the Danish mind behind Sørensen, explained it was so difficult for him to find a watch he could wear for all occasions - "from a surfing adventure to an exclusive bar", always looking sharp and stylish. So, he decided to create his own brand of watches with this concept in mind. And, honestly, I love it!

I was a little worried because you know, wearing a wet watch band under a suit or a shirt is not that comfortable. But the wristband is made of nylon and dries very quickly! You can see all Sørensen products features on the website.

DIY // Easy beach hair spray

I always liked the idea of having beach hair all year around and when I discovered that many brands produce their own sea hair formulas to spray on you locks I was suddenly sold!

But somehow I thought that living by the beach was already doing its miracle and the price range of these products (and their not-so-natural formulas) made me forget about beach hair for a while.

Until summer ended and my hair style seemed having forgiven what those sunny days in the water looked like. But then I discovered that I could actually do my own sea salt spray for nothing and with natural products I had at home! I was so excited to try it and share it with you today! :)

This DIY is so very simple and you can use the products you already have at home!

Ready?

Ingredients:

100 ml spray bottle (I bought mine on Amazon for 3 euros)

warm water

1-2 tbs sea salt

1 tbs argan oil - you can use coconut oil if you prefer

*optional: 1 tbs water-based hair gel for more texture

*optional: juice of 1/2 lemon for natural lightening

Combine sea salt and argan oil in the spray bottle. Then fill the bottle with warm water and shake!!

Easy breezy!

Spray on your hair and repeat during the day for a beachier look.

This was super quick and easy to make and will definitely give our hair a beachy vibe whenever you want!

Snook surfboard covers

Hi everyone! Today I'd like to introduce to you a talented team of Italian sea lovers. Their brand's name is Snook and their passion for the waves translates into their creations.

Alessandro Ferratini and Giampaolo Celada started this project with the aim to create special items for surfers and their adventures.

Between bags, clothes and surf gadgets, a new line of surfboard covers made of high quality resistance fabrics and with a wide range of textures.

Snook surf covers are the result of an exciting process of research in terms of design, materials, but overall, originality.

Every little detail such as the wooden buttons, the marine cotton rope and buckle are treated with great care, this being translation of passion and Italian craftsmanship.

Always challenging with different artists, surfers, designers and illustrators Snook creates exciting and original projects for the surf junkies like yours truly! ;)

Learning to skate

This past weekend we have been blessed with such a beautiful spring sunny weather. Totally unexpected. But we really needed some warmth and light after almost four weeks of rain in a row... Welcome to Basque Country folks!

Anyway, I thought it could be the right moment for me to dust off my boyfriend's longboard skate and ask him to teach me. I admit it was not the first time on a skateboard for me, but it had been such a long time since the last ride.

I had so much fun! Starting slowly, at the end I was really enjoying some little more speed. If you can actually call it this way ;)

Andrea also took me on a video, but I care about you (and I got some kind of reputation, you know!) so I won't put it on-line. However, if the best skater is the one having the most fun (busted, I stole this quote from surfing), I can say I'm quite a pro! ;)

Plus, If you haven't noticed yet, I'm wearing these super cool Akela Surf leggings. I love them because you can wear them in and out of the water. With some heels for a sleeker look, with your everyday sneakers to create a casual outfit or with your favorite bikini. So, basically you can live with them on!
They can definitely have a place on my list of tips for packing light during the next surftrip... Just saying! ;)

Surf buddies

Since it's almost Christmas and we're all about good vibes and giving, I wanted to dedicate this post to the meaning of "sharing" and telling a little more about my personal experience - sharing a passion of a lifetime.

I've been lucky enough to find my better half in a surfer. If you don't like surfing and don't enjoy being in the water, being a surfer's girlfriend can be tough. And, really girls, I understand you!

...the sudden twists of daily planning because the wind turned the right way, that upset face after a missed lifetime session who could be the best of the year, saving money for a new board when what you really need is a new washing machine...

The thing is, I'm totally into it too! And I am so grateful of being able to understand all those kind of feelings crossing my boyfriend's mind. Having another person to live with and to feel for is always (and always will be) an emotional roller-coaster. But a common passion can tightly bound your relationship and make you stronger.

That's what I learnt from my experience: being there for each other, deeply understand each other's feelings and having fun together is the foundation of a great and strong love story.

And I thank everyday for that.

But hey, don't get me wrong. I am totally in for weekly me-times and I think there are some activities and places that MUST be totally forbidden to your better half - we don't need to share really everything.

But anyway, even if you're not into surfing or you don't share the same hobby with your partner, try to find a common passion and invest yourselves in it.

This could well be a good new year's resolution! ;)

It is not just about giving and receiving gift and treats (which I love by the way), but feeling that very same fire inside you - this is the meaning of sharing to me.

My beach cottage // Tips and tricks for rental houses

Having moved to another country, with my baggage half-done under the bed and always ready for the next adventures is not the right way to settle down and look for stability.

That's why my boyfriend and I chose to rent a house instead of buying it. We had the chance to find a two bedrooms flat right next to the beach and we love it.

But as most of you may know, not owning your house means a lot of restrictions about decoration, furniture, paint, etc. That's why it's often difficult to create YOUR OWN space and feel really at home.

After a year living in this apartment, we somehow managed to create our little corner of peace and comfort to exploit after long days of work and weekend laziness.

Today I'm sharing with you all the little tips and tricks for turning a rental boring home into a place that reflects your personality, as well as a home tour of my beach apartment.

1. Build your zen corner

Everyone needs their relax corner in their home. It could be in the living room, in a veranda or in a patio (oh, I'm so jealous!). I decided I need my little zen corner in my bedroom. Don't get me wrong: I didn't decorated it with Indian wall hangings or turned the room into a Moroccan riad. I just added a little flowery accent, played with the right curtain to make the light soften and chose a soft color palette for bedding and pillows.

2. The power of scents

Sometimes we underestimate the importance of being surrounded by perfumes in our homes. And I don't mean those chemicals spray they sell at the supermarket.

Being close to the ocean you could feel the smell of humidity in our apartment right when you opened the door. Not cool when inviting people for dinner!
So, introducing fragrances in my home place was definitely the turning point.

Really, scented candles and natural essences can actually make the difference without overwhelming you. And they have the power to throw you into a happy and relaxed mood too.

3. Textiles and layers

Don't be afraid to play with different textiles, blankets, throws and pillows! They can really make the difference. When we first arrived in this flat we hated our sofa. We really did! But after little experiments and adjustments we turned it into something we actually love spending our time in. It's cozy and we can't wait to wrap into our warm blankets and watch movies all night long.

4. Grow your own herbs

Dedicating a little corner for herbs and spices not only will make you proud of something you grew yourself, but will fill your home with life!

5. Plants, plants, plants

As said above, herbs and plants fill your home with life. Not only they make a statement in your house, but they can make you proud of taking care of something that implies cures and attentions to grow.

And they can hide those places you don't want to show or that stayed undecorated.

If you don't have green fingers (like your very own here), go with succulents - they're easy to grow and extremely stylish too.

6. Make room for memories
If you're far from home drop downs can happen and the nostalgia for last summer holidays with your friends can take you when you least expect it. Photos of your family, hanging pictures and little objects from your travels can really cheer you up during those moments. They will always remind you about your roots and give your home that little extra touch of personality it needs to be unique.

I hope these simple steps can help you turn your rental into your special shelter and a home to be proud of. They definitely changed mine!

When it's windy outside you put your fanciest skirt on and start dancing
